wow i can't believe nate's 8 months old. I always associated 8 months old with Fen's babe, Ethan Ong.
That was the latest baby i've seen at 8 months - so 8 months to me = 8 month old ethan ong, who could vocalise what he wanted, react to our facial expressions, and drink prune juice. It's pretty random that prune juice thing but those are the images stuck in my head. Thinking about it, Nate does all these things now at 8 months so i guess i'll get used to him growing.
This month brings on some exciting milestones. And i guess the developments are more "visible" than the month before. I'm ever so greatful to the point where i can fall on my knees and thank the Man above that Nate can finally sit steadily now because it gives me some sort of freedom and a little of my life back. I've mentioned before that now we can go shopping together, run errands together and even dine together. I could do all these things before, just with alot more difficulty than now. See, now, i can have both hands to myself. Hooray.Sometimes Nate sings to himself. Most times, he sings along with us.
He particulalry likes Queen (yes i've told some of you about it) and his latest all time favourite is "Radio Ga Ga" mostly the "Ga Ga" part though. That's the part he sings along too.
He does smile when we sing him "Mahnamana" from the Muppet Show, and occasionally sings along to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" as well. At this point, might i add, he seems tone death but it's entertaining.
I'll put up video clips later on.
I can't say i'm entirely keen on his impatient trait. If he wants something, he'll get very very upset and scream if I or anyone for that matter takes too much time. He loves ROUGH play and is happiest when tossed in the air. So because of that, he gets along fantastically with Vinn-U, my brother.
Crawling seems to be the next big thing for Nate, who's been able to prop himself into position, and is pretty expert in commando crawling in a desired direction. Yes. I'm sure he'll be able to crawl fully once i head on home from Indonesia where i am on assignment and baby free and yes, catching up on my sleep and box set dvds (gilmore girls season 5). Hence being able to blog!
We've (actually the seng and the brother) have managed to fulfill their manhood duties by dismentalling the milk dud's crib and lower its mattress height to prevent any accidents because someone who's name sounds alot like date is trying to stand, running a risk of him falling over. We've not been to the doctor *knock on wood* i mean *thank God* for a whole 2 months now!!!!! a REAL RECORD! in nate's world that is. And we've managed to keep the nebulising _ if necessary_ to just a week now. He's allergenic symptoms seem to be under control and i hope this follows through to the next month and the next month and the next month.
The introduction of solid foods is starting to bore me. Not the cooking itself but the trial of new single ingredients over a period of 3 days is not going down well with my inpatient system. I so want to shove down wonderful food like pasta, fish, sushi, salads in nate but that would be suicidal. Oh the poor boy doesn't know what he is missing out on. But i guess if you've never had it, you won't know you're missing it .... the famous " if a tree falls in the forest and no one's there to hear it; does it make noise?" question.
I'm not exactly keen on the poo that comes along with new ingredients though. From this, i learn that poo can actually be pleasant.
Who would have known.
So now the next thing on the list is to start mentally prepping myself for the first fall, or knock because with mobility comes accidents. Otherwise, yes. We're still having a blast and this house pet is starting to become more and more like a human.
